This ongoing knitting project, creating landmarks from around the world, is inspired by all my travels, which include an overland journey, travelling from Sydney to London by land and sea, taken with my husband and son across five months in 2014.
Each landmark is hand knit and varies in size and complexity. Pee Wee’s Playhouse is about 1.5 meters long by .75 high whereas the Statue of Liberty is just a bit taller than my hand.
Each one also varies in nature: some are major, obvious landmarks (like the Sydney Opera House) some are smaller and have more personal meaning (like the Worthing Pavilion) and some are just imaginary places I love.
I hope you enjoy the knitted journey.
